Commitment to helping small businesses
We define small businesses as those having 100 people or fewer. But scale is relative, and in the Japanese tea industry, while there are companies who have hundreds of employees and a few with thousands, most are family-managed operations with fewer than 20 employees. Farms especially rarely have more than 5 non-family employees (often apprentice farmers who will work for a few years to gain experience before starting their own farm).
The alphabetical listing below details every single producer we are selling, while the other sections are updated manually (and hasn't been updated since prior to 2020, so is due for an update soon!).
We encourage you to instead click on the producer's link on product pages and collection pages to learn more about the producer of a specific tea or other product you are considering purchasing. Every item has a human story behind it!
